Day 01: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Your journey into the Kingdom of Bhutan begins with a spectacular flight on Druk Air, soaring over the majestic Himalayas and offering breathtaking views of the world’s highest glacial peaks. As the plane descends into the scenic Paro Valley, you’ll catch glimpses of the Paro Dzong, the National Museum, and Paro town. Upon arrival, a representative from Reality Escape “Bhutan” will greet you and accompany you on a picturesque two-hour drive to Thimphu, the capital city. The route follows the Pachu and Wangchu rivers, passing through lush paddy fields, orchards, and quaint rural landscapes. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Thimphu Valley
After breakfast, begin exploring the cultural highlights of Thimphu. Visit the Memorial Chorten, a revered stupa built in 1974 by the Grand Queen Mother in memory of the Third King of Bhutan. Then head to the National Library, home to a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and modern academic books. Stop by the Handicrafts Emporium to admire beautifully woven fabrics, local crafts, and traditional art pieces. Continue to the Painting School, known for its training in traditional thangka painting, and the Institute of Traditional Medicine, where Bhutan’s rich herbal traditions are preserved. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Tashichhodzong, the seat of the King’s throne room, government offices, and the summer residence of the monastic body. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu to Punakha
Today’s drive takes you through the spectacular Dochula Pass at 3,050 meters, where—on a clear day—you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas. Stop to admire the Druk Wangyal Chortens (108 stupas) and the nearby Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, set against a stunning mountain backdrop. The journey then descends through beautiful temperate forests of rhododendron and magnolia, especially enchanting in spring. Upon arrival in Punakha, enjoy lunch at your hotel before visiting the iconic Punakha Dzong, majestically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 04: Punakha to Paro
After breakfast, return to Paro along the same scenic route. In the afternoon, explore Ta Dzong, originally built in 1646 as a watchtower, now housing the National Museum. Continue to Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1647 to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan invaders—now an evocative ruin set against a dramatic backdrop. Lastly, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, established in 636 AD by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. The temple enshrines sacred statues of the Jowo (Crowned Buddha) and Guru Padmasambhava. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 05: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
After breakfast, begin your hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of Bhutan’s most iconic and sacred sites. Perched dramatically on a sheer cliffside 900 meters above the valley floor, this monastery is said to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated in the 8th century. The hike, though challenging, is richly rewarding with panoramic views and spiritual resonance. Return to Paro in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Paro.
